The Insolvency Regulation (EC) 1346/2000 ("Insolvency Regulation 2000") lays down rules on jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of judgments and the applicable law governing the insolvency proceedings in the Member States of the EU. The Insolvency Regulation 2000 entered into force on 31 May 2002. It was recast by Regulation 2015/848 ("Insolvency Regulation 2015") and expanded through chapters V (insolvency proceedings of members of a group of companies) and VI (data protection). Insolvency Regulation 2015 applies as of 26 June 2017 to all newly opened insolvency proceedings from that date. For insolvency proceedings opened before 26 June 2017, the Insolvency Regulation 2000 still applies. Both the 2000 and 2015 Insolvency Regulations apply for all Member States except Denmark.
